Investigators say 30 animals died in a barn fire in Boone County.
The farm manager's son says he noticed smoke as he left for school.
The Kentucky Enquirer says the farm manager then ran to the barn and was able to free some goats, three cows, a peacock and some other animals.
But 30 couldn't be saved, mostly sheep and goats.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
