A 14-year-old boy died Saturday after being hit by a train in Madison County.

That's according to the Madison County Coroner,  who says 14-year-old Andrew Morris Byrd was walking down the middle of the railroad tracks along Highway 388.

When a train headed north came from behind him and hit the boy around 3pm.

The coroner says he believes this death is accidental because the boy was walking away from the train, and probably didn't see it coming.
