Franklin County senior and UK recruiting target Ryan Timmons is the High School Highlight Reel Star of the Week.
FRANKFORT, Ky. - Franklin County's Ryan Timmons scored the game-winning touchdown as time expired on an 80-yard kick off return to give the Flyers a 56-52 win over Anderson County last Friday, which also won the district for Franklin.
The two teams swapped leads four times in the final three minutes of the game.
Tied at 42-42, Bearcats quarterback Zach Carmichael scored on a one-yard run to cap a 7-play, 74-yard drive, putting Anderson up 49-42 with 3:04 to play.
About a minute later, the Flyers' Logan Woodside hit Timmons for a 43-yard touchdown, followed by a Timmons run for the two-point conversion to give Franklin a 50-49 edge with 2:05 to go.
With 14 seconds left, Anderson's Joe Rose booted a 24-yard field goal to move back in front 52-50.
On the ensuing kick off, Lorenzo McCaskell fielded it but then pitched it to Timmons, who took it 80 yards for the game-winning score.
It was Timmons' 35th touchdown of the season. Timmons is averaging 23.6 points per game as well as 23.6 yards per touch rushing and receiving.
Timmons has 47 rushing attempts for 904 yards with 22 catches for 721 yards.
The Flyers look to complete its second consecutive undefeated regular season at Montgomery County Friday night.
