A former Danville Admiral has made his way back home.
Clay Clevenger was a two-way, all-state lineman for the Ads from 1992-95.
He's spent the last six years as the head coach at Henderson County. Clevenger was also an assistant at The University of the Cumberlands for several seasons after heading up the offense at Lincoln County under now Boyle County head man Larry French.
Now, Clevenger is taking over for a coaching legend in the Bluegrass. His former coach at Danville, Sam Harp left for a head job in Tennessee.
And while state championships are expected at Danville, a self-described 'Title Town,' Clevenger knows the task ahead is daunting with such big shoes to fill at one of the Commonwealth's top five programs in all-time wins.
But for the former Admiral finalist for Mr. Football, Clevenger wants fans and families to do just one thing to keep the program moving in the right direction.
Be good examples for the kids and be good examples for one another.
