Clark County topped Paintsville and Knott County Central beat Simon Kenton to advance to the quarterfinals of the Republic Bank Holiday Classic at Lexington Catholic.
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Clark County's Damion King forced a turnover and raced for a layup in the closing seconds of overtime to clinch a 75-71 win over Paintsville in the Republic Bank Holiday Classic at Lexington Catholic on Thursday.
Clark County advances to Friday's quarterfinals and will meet tourney host Lexington Catholic at 6:30.
Knott County Central's Camron Justice had 26 points and Evan Hall had 17 points and 10 rebounds to help lead the Patriots past Simon Kenton 65-47.
Knott Central will play at 5 PM in Friday's quarterfinals against Cincinnati Princeton, which beat Lexington Christian Academy 73-57.
Friday's other quarterfinal will be Roger Bacon, OH vs. Bishop Brossart at 3:30.
