Ever run hills?

They aren't fun.  And if you needed confirmation, just go check in on a practice down in Somerset.

Sure, they are needed, but man they are exhausting.

For head coach Robbie Lucas and company, effort, whether during hills or other drills...spills over into Friday nights.

That effort is usually coupled with experience.  This year, with a big senior class now gone, Lucas is hoping that effort gets his team to Bowling Green and finally past Newport Central Catholic.

The good thing about effort for Lucas? It's contagious in Somerset.  The bad taste of almost getting to state so many times lingers from November into spring ball and then creeps into the fall.

It's time to get back after it for most programs, but for Somerset, the Jumpers never stopped.
