Nov. 29. 2011 – Blue Grass Energy and its employees are in the spirit of giving this holiday season with its third annual 12 Days of Giving food and toy drive Dec. 1-16. Partnering with Toys for Tots and God’s Pantry, Blue Grass Energy is collecting toys and non-perishable food items to be distributed to families in need throughout its 23-county service area.
“It’s more than providing reliable electric service,” says Cathryn W. Gibson, vice president of member services and economic development, “we’re part of the community. We live here, too. These are very tough times for a lot of people. Blue Grass Energy’s commitment to our communities is core to our business, but more importantly, it’s just the right thing to do.”
From Dec. 1 through Dec. 16, non-perishable food items and new toys may be delivered to any Blue Grass Energy office at the following locations:
• 1201 Lexington Rd., Nicholasville
• 1200 Versailles Rd., Lawrenceburg
• 1099 Berea Rd., Richmond
• 327 Sea Biscuit Way, Cynthiana
“Support from our local communities has been overwhelming – from cooperative members and non-members,” says Gibson. “The spirit of giving is universal and we appreciate all donations and contributions. This is not about a specific electric provider – it’s about extending a helping hand to families in need and making a difference in their lives this holiday season.”
Blue Grass Energy is a not-for-profit electric cooperative serving approximately 55,000 member-owners in 23 central and north central Kentucky counties.
