A Western Kentucky mayor wants his town to ban smoking in public places. Hopkinsville Mayor Dan Kemp says his town is the largest one in the state 'not' to have a smoking ban and he wants to change that. Kemp told the 'New Era' Newspaper that he will present an ordinance to the city council next month. He says if it's passed, the ban could start July 1st. He says it would affect places like restaurants but there would be exceptions for private clubs and tobacco stores.
