A 6-year-old Franklin County boy who was hit by an SUV while riding his bike has died.  Frankfort Police say the accident happened at 6 Saturday night on Excel Court in the Silver Lakes subdivision.  The Franklin County Coroner told the State Journal that Charles Semones died of blunt force trauma to the head.  He was not wearing a helmet.  Semones was taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center but died from his injuries Saturday night.

Neighbors says many of the homes in the neighborhood have younger kids that play near the street. They say there a many drivers that speed through the area as well.

Samantha Conway's children were playing with Semones just minutes before he was hit. She says she's just happy no other children were out with Semones at the time of the incident. She says it's sad that something like this had to happen to make people realize they need to slow down in the neighborhood.

An investigation is ongoing.  No charges have been filed against the driver of the SUV.
