Crazy Basketball Stats

Because it's February!
Here's some of the most interesting team stats I could find from NCAA records.  Hopefully ones you don't know (so don't ask about the LSU comeback).  Enjoy the local flare!

MOST OVERTIME GAMES IN A SEASON:
8—Western Ky., 1978 (won 5, lost 3)

CONSECUTIVE OVERTIME WINS (ALL-TIME):
11—Louisville, Feb. 10, 1968, to Mar. 29, 1975;
Massachusetts, Mar. 21, 1991, to Feb. 28, 1996 ("You Know Who" was coach the entire time)

VICTORIES IN A SEASON:
37—Duke, 1986 (37-3) and 1999 (37-2); Illinois, 2005
(37-2); UNLV, 1987 (37-2); Kansas, 2008 (37-3)
Note: Memphis was 38-2 in 2008, but all 38 wins were later
vacated. (so John Cal has the most wins in reality...sorry NCAA)

CONSECUTIVE HOMECOURT VICTORIES (ALL-TIME):
129—Kentucky, from Jan. 4, 1943, to Jan. 8, 1955 (ended
by Georgia Tech, 59-58)...currently riding a 50-game streak as you know.

CONSECUTIVE NON-LOSING SEASONS (ALL-TIME) (INCLUDES .500 RECORD)
60—Kentucky, 1928-52, 54-88# (two .500 seasons)
#Kentucky did not play basketball during the 1953 season.

BUT Who is the current leader without a losing season?
CURRENT CONSECUTIVE NON-LOSING
SEASONS (INCLUDES .500 RECORD)

42—Syracuse, 1970-2011 (one .500 season)...just wouldn't have thought it was that long.  Kind of amazing really.

30-WIN SEASONS (ALL-TIME):
12—Duke, 1986-2011; Kentucky, 1947-2010

20-WIN SEASONS (ALL-TIME):
55—Kentucky, 1933-2011

REBOUNDS IN ONE GAME:
108—Kentucky vs. Ole Miss, Feb. 8, 1964

REBOUNDS IN ONE SEASON:
2,109—Kentucky, 1951 (34 games)

FEWEST POINTS ALLOWED IN A GAME (SINCE 1938):
6 - Kentucky (1975) vs. Arkansas St., Jan. 8, 1945

CONSECUTIVE 3-POINT FG'S WITHOUT MISS IN A GAME:
11 - Eastern Ky. vs. UNC Asheville, Jan. 14, 1987

And because I was still browsing...Pete Maravich once hung 64 points on Kentucky on Feb. 21, 1970
