He paid into this to be able to get his unemployment so I dont like the fact ppl are screaming get a job. You are probably one who just wishes that you could sit at home and do the same! I have worked my BEHIND OFF for 18 years at a factory and was recently let go. I have paid every TAX this country and state has requested. I have a family to feed thru this economic down turn. Considering the fact that my employer has paid into this program for the 18 years that I worked for them and they in turn generated considerable profit on my back why should I not receive this benefit? If you buy insurance for your car and it is totaled you expect compenstaion don't you? This is not a hand out. It is not welfare. It is UNEMPOYMENT INSURANCE. I deserve it and I have no shame in collecting it. As far as getting another job that would be great if the fact was that I would lose my benefit for taking a minimum wage job such as your two jobs. I make more all be it temporarily collecting what is rightfully mine. A insurance claim. You need to quit thinking of this as a hand out. Quit waiting around for the perfect job, take what you can get for now. It is better to get something and earn the money yourself - get 2 jobs if you have to. Quit trying to blame others for you not getting what you think you deserve. Get off you butt and get to work. If you can afford a computer and the internet - why are you complaining? You can also get off your lazy butt and go down to the unemployment office, I do beleive they take walk-in. My husband tried from 2:00-9:00 yesterday and has been trying since 7:00am this morning and got either a busy signal or was hung up on and told to try and call back later cause they were having difficulties with thier system !!! Also, the website they give is useless also. Nothing comes up for you to claim your benefits online either !!!
