Habitat Feeling the Pinch

With the nation's slumping economy, many charitable organizations are finding it hard to helps as many people as they have in the past.
Lexington's Habitat for Humanity continues to help provide new homes for deserving families but they worry their resources could become limited.

They typically provide homes for around twenty families each year. They will reach that goal this year but they worry they might not be able to help as many people next year since the price of everything is going up.
Sunday, Rosey Coleman became the 300th recipient of a habitat home in the city. The working single mom of four had always wanted to own her own home.

Organizers of Lexington's Habitat for Humanity are already preparing for next year since they worry they won't get as many donations as they have in the past. They are looking for ways to cut costs, thinking of how they could renovate homes rather than build new ones, and are looking for more resources for funds.

They hope people in the community will still be able to support them next year.
