GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – Old Friends, the Thoroughbred Retirement Facility in Georgetown, is now offering a vacation cottage for visitors.
Old Friends is a non-profit organization that cares for more than 170 retired racehorses.
The new vacation cottage, a two-story colonial home adjacent to the Old Friends farm, the will be available for week-long rentals beginning March 25.
The home has four bedrooms, three full baths, a fully equipped kitchen, plus a spacious living room and dining area, and is located about 25 minutes away from Bluegrass Airport.
A release from Old Friends says vacation home is ideal for exploring Lexington and surrounding area attractions, while also offering a respite for quiet relaxation.
Visitors can also arrange tours of Old Friends to meet pensioned racing champions.
“This is such a unique opportunity, not only for horse lovers and racing fans, but for all tourists visiting the Bluegrass,” said Old Friends founder and President Michael Blowen. “Guests will be able to visit with our retired athletes on the farm, and their stay will help support our organization. But we’re also very proud to be able to help showcase all of the other wonderful sites and adventures the area has to offer.”
