FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Young visitors to the Kentucky Capitol can learn about more than history, with a cooking demonstration series now available in the Capitol Education Center.

The series, called "Plant, Harvest, Eat," is also available online at http://bit.ly/1BoIRVW , and the recipes are at http://kyproud.com/kentucky-proud-recipes.aspx . The videos show students preparing simple recipes using Kentucky-grown foods.

First lady Jane Beshear and University of Kentucky Agriculture, Food and Environment Dean Nancy Cox launched the program on Monday.

The series features College of Agriculture Chef Bob Perry with third-, fourth- and fifth-graders from schools in Jefferson, Jessamine, Garrard and Calloway counties.

The Capitol Education Center is located on the Capitol grounds and is an interactive, energy-efficient educational space for the more than 60,000 students who visit the Capitol campus annually.
